about

Though this is a thoroughly sad song. It was a fan favorite on 'Silent Minds University'. With this remix, I maintained the original piano/vocal and utilized a larger arrangement with modern mixing techniques.

lyrics

It's cold knockin' at your door,
You wouldn't let me in,
You cracked it open just enough to smell your cinnamon.
Gave me five minutes maybe before you sent me on my way,
still you call me baby in the most familiar way.
And so you're leading me on,
why you gotta leave me alone?

You never seemed to care.
You never seem to call.
So I guess I'll just burn it all, all the love that you consume.
I'll be tearing down invisible walls, that catch you every time you fall.
I know you won't stand so tall, in the darkness of your room.

I've been a sparrow in the wind without you.
You know my heart's not sold on anyone at all.
Did you fetch a broken arrow from the cloud that we road on?
Because the other half's cold and sticking in my spine.
Mercy why do I feel alone?
You know my heart's not sold on anyone at all.
Whoa, why do I feel alone?
I wish somebody'd come here and put weight on these bones.
Because you're always on my mind,
Damn near all of the time.

You never seemed to care.
You never seem to call.
So I guess I'll just burn it all, all the love that you consume.
I'll be tearing down invisible walls, that catch you every time you fall.
I know you won't stand so tall, in the darkness of your room.
